Grand Cayman Dolphin Encounter review by the Disney Dealer

Review of the Grand Cayman Dolphin Encounter.

Here is a direct link from Disney

Adult $80.00 adults and $70 for children.

total excursion time 3.5 hours
This includes meeting point, transportation, adventure and misc time.
Total dolphin interaction is 30 minutes.

This was not quite what I expected! Not at all.
I would not actually recommend it.
I am happy we did have the interaction with the dolphin but I think another business may have been better or more legit.

I pictured a gorgeous interaction with these beautiful creatures within a sectioned beautiful beach cove..
What I got instead was concrete dolphin enclosures. The water was murky. The location is indeed right next to a beach but not connected to.

It is a little chaotic upon arrival. They do have bathrooms for guests to change in. They were fairly large and clean enough. Not Disney clean but clean.

Not allowed to wear hats, glasses or have cameras.

Guests are led to be fitted for life vests. Guests are ushered into groups and assigned a photographer who is to lead each group.

Each group is led to an enclosure where they are able to enjoy the dolphin interaction. You enter the enclosure single file where you stay lined up in water.
The trainer calls one person at a time so each person has individual time with dolphin.
For parents with children, one parent will go with the child and have the interaction.
The parent will then be called back to have their own interaction as well.. I was glad to see this.

My kids really loved the experience but I hate the condition of the facility. It was definitely a let down and I felt the animals were not necessarily cared for properly. I don't like contributing to that.

Pictures available:
I have no pictures to share.
I chose to NOT purchase any. One thing I hate more than anything is the con..
I was expected an image cost of $25.oo .. I think it is high but typical. Nope, they were selling them at $40. per image.
You could get the whole package at $210.00
UMMMM.. that is almost the same cost of our excursion. No thank you. I declined and then they offered to discount it to $180..I still declined. I should have asked for a discount on a single image but didn't. The staff member was obviously upset at us for declining on the picture package.
We all agreed to have our mental memory of it all and was satisfied with that.

We then looked around the 'souvenir shop' but honestly even the merch here was basically gas station quality and about 4 times the price. Literally ($40.00 for a small fair quality cheap made stuffed animal). It even looked like a gas station, just very run down looking. We decided to jump on first shuttle back (first shuttle back to boat leaves at 2pm)
to the boat and just get a gift on the boat. It was better quality and same cost if not maybe less.

There was a turtle sanctuary directly across street from this facility. We could have ventured there for a bit but opted not to.

Our pictures in NO order! haha
