Disney California Grill Dinner experience

Not my first rodeo in dining at this signature dining location! Definitely won't be my last.
This dining location is highly recommended.

The California Grill restaurant is definitely a memorable dining experience!
Sitting on the 15th floor of the Contemporary Resort, you have a birds eye view over 7 Seas Lagoon, The monorail Resorts and Magic Kingdom!
Here is Disney's direct LINK for their official listed menu.

It is a magnificent view, especially if you arrive at the right time to watch the sun set, Magic Kingdom Fireworks as well as the Electric Water Pageant!

This dining experience can range from $30 up to $100+ easily depending on your menu selections!
If on the dining plan, it will take two dining credits.

We experienced this with the Deluxe dining plan so we were able to fully enjoy all of the offerings available. Deluxe not only comes with dessert and alcoholic beverage but it also comes with an appetizer included!

We selected a 7:30pm dining time. This worked perfect for us to watch all the above mention take place! We were so thankful to have been seated at a window table for a direct over view.

Many guests step outside on the balcony to watch the fireworks! It is great they have that option.
They do pipe in the music for those that stay inside and they also dim the lights during the firework display as well.

Check in is located at the 3rd floor of the resort. Once you check in, you are taken up to the 15th floor by private elevators. You will check in again at the 15th floor. If you need to wait for the table, there is a bar you can wait at or limited bench areas by the restrooms.

They keep the menu updated for their culinary masterpieces to keep a fresh taste!
Menu options were different from previous visit but was enjoyed just as well.

I went with adult friends and we all ordered our appetizers. We each ordered a different one so we could all try something different.
Our selections were as followed; Braised Beef short Rib Wontons($17.00), California Combination Roll ($27.00) and the Pepperoni Pizza($21.00).

They were all very delicious. We all agreed we liked the pizza the best.

Our Entrees were as follows:
Grilled Colorado Bison Loin ($62.), Black Grouper($49.) and the Bison ($62.) again.

I previously had the Oak-Fired Filet of Beef which was delectable.
I enjoyed the Bison but I enjoyed the filet more from previous visit. Every bite was scrumptious.
I will say, the best mac & cheese ever in my life, aged Gouda Macaroni. Oh my word! I could have just had that and been in heaven!

Dessert:
Not that I could really eat any since I was so full but I was definitely going to try!

I was NOT crazy about my dessert. I ordered the Apple Crostata($14.). It was too dry. They offered another item but I declined.
My friends had the Strawberry Creme Brulee($14.) & Carrot Cheesecake ($14.)

We also chose an alcoholic drink for our beverages! Yes, your dining plan includes this!
Sadly, I lost most of my pictures and I can't tell you the ones we enjoyed. The prices averaged around $14. per drink.

This was definitely a dining experience.
For those on a budget, don't count yourself out.
I would definitely still recommend a reservation here. You can enjoy an appetizer as a meal. They are very large and filling! They can definitely be considered an entree portion in serving size..If you are with friends, do as we did and order a variety to share. You are still coming out cheaper than some other table service locations and still getting a wonderful dining experience.  I myself would go back just for that pizza!

So let's add up our totals to see how we faired under the Dining plan.
I will just use my own meal
App, Entree, Dessert and beverage came to $117.00
2 dining credits under Deluxe.
Daily cost for the Deluxe plan is $116.25

I already came out basically even in my cost for just this one meal. I still enjoyed another Table service credit and 2 snacks.
The benefit of the plan was maximized in my opinion. Could I go cheaper, definitely. This was a planned trip that we wanted to have nice dining experiences. We still had wonderful park time and relaxation time. There was no pressure in optimizing the plan. We were very happy with our dining choices as well as not having to even consider how much anything was when dining since it was already accounted for in our budget.
