Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort review

My review from visiting Disney's Saratoga Springs resort.
We stayed in a 2 bedroom villa. Ok. Yes. The room was lovely. Overall, definitely a least favorite resort of mine. Sofa bed is not comfy.  All other beds were perfect.

The theming is nice but it just lacked the Disney feel a little too much for me. I could have easily been in a regular condo.
The resort ground is pretty expanded. I wouldn't recommend it if you didn't have your own car or unprepared to utilize Uber. We had to drive to carriage house for any needs there.
I'm used to walking to main house from rooms but this was just too much for me. I normally never use my car even though I drive down 90% of time when vacationing. We were placed in the Carrousel wing. I believe we were placed there because we did have a car. I did ask for a specific resort area but didn't get it. Was a little bummed. We were checked in early. It was possible we could have been given the room we preferred had we made another mention to it and agreed to wait. Room requests though are never guaranteed.
We just accepted it. We were ready to get settled and going. We also know we could manage. Lol. Somethings are just easier to let slide.
Ok. Enough negativity.
The resort is right by Disney Springs. Some areas of resort are quick walking distance to DS. I walked it before from DS when wanting to grab a bus from resort directly to a park instead of having to transfer busses.
Resort: Basically you need to utilize busses for the parks.
We drove.
Room was comfy and clean as expected for deluxe. Looked in good condition. Nothing needed updating in my observation.
Pool was great but nothing special.
I know the kids would love it. Kids love pools.
I would just go to Animal Kingdom over this resort if comparing deluxe with similar transportation modes. You just get more out of Animal Kingdom.
Store at this resort is very small and is connected to the counter service.
Plenty of seating for counter and selections were nice.
The Artist's palette even had some easels on the tables for kids to draw on.
The staff(all but one) was extremely friendly. I would say this resort housed the nicest cast members I have encountered.

The resort did work for our needs. We had a party of 5, adult trip. Two women shared the double queen room. Me and my husband used the King bedroom. My brother slept on the sofa bed. I would not really even say this resort is great for just utilizing as a resort. It mainly only offers the pool and the typical resort amenities daily activities. The Cabins at Fort Wilderness offer so much more. The other Deluxe resorts that would be great to use as resort stays,  resorts to use specifically for resort amentities would be Polynesian, Animal King Lodge, Contemporary, Wilderness Lodge and any of the EPCOT Deluxe resorts. Just so much more available right at your fingertips basically.  I don’t want to take away from this resort, the accommodations are very, nice just definitely not a ‘go to’ resort unless I was getting a really good deal on it.
