Western Caribbean cruise on Disney Fantasy Day 6 Star Wars Days at Sea

We decided to take it easy this day! Even though we just woke up when we woke up, we still were up and out of the cabin by 8:45am

Today was Star Wars Day at Sea and the ship had a makeover which was so fun!
We had our Special event tickets to meet Star War characters. Those we booked out when our cruise activity booking window opened pre-cruise.

We did grab a quick bite to eat prior to our first character ticket event.
When I booked, I selected our character M&G 30 min apart which is perfect timing to get it all done without too much gap time between.
9am R2D2 & C3PO.. arrived at 9:30am
9:30am Darth Vader, arrived at 9:20am
10am Chewbacca, arrived at 9:50am

Done and Done!! It was perfect! Was so much fun meeting these great characters especially the androids! How often is that!!!

They had fun back drops for the photo ops as well. What I also really enjoyed was just seeing the other guests all dressed up in Cosplay

We also so many other characters walking around the ship as if patrolling. They would stop at times and take pictures but it was never guaranteed they would stop for you. Keep that in mind. Majority of the time they did.

We got to see some Jawas, they were fascinated with a stroller!

My little one could not get enough of the midship detective agency so off we went to do that, AGAIN
But isn’t that what it is all about? Hanging with the family and enjoying your time together. We actually changed it up a bit though and decided to do two adventures at same time!

After the run of the ship, I had to try a specialty drink! Time for mommy to relax too!
Of course, had to grab another free soft serve ice cream, which was a daily habit while on the cruise.

Back to the room to relax a bit prior to lunch.
WHiile in room, we were relaxed and looking out the large seated portholes. It was amazing, we actually saw some Bobby Birds, they would dive into the water and hover over. We finally found what they were after. We saw FLYING fish!! It was the coolest thing ever to see them and man, they really could go pretty far out of the water. I never thought I would get to see that in person. We could tell from how the birds were flying to when the fish would start flying. I was amazed and so glad my kids were able to see such a sight!

Unfortunately, I was not able to get video or pictures.
BOOOO

Off me and the hubs went to ‘adult’ trivia. It said adults only and were disappointed to see other guests actually brought their kids in. One group was being so loud and obnoxious the MC actually asked them to leave!  If we knew the rules were not strictly enforced regarding bringing the kids, we would have brought our 14 yr old just so he could be included. We didn’t want to break rules and wold not want to but it didn’t seem it was enforced.
We came in second place.. not bad but not the winners. ERG.

Went back to room again to rest. 2:20pm
We continued with our movie marathon of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Off to Dinner!
When we came back our room host was there. He was the BEST, just an awesome guy! We found out he had a daughter close to my little ones age. We had to buy a little present for him to give to her! You can do this, but you have to give the item along with the receipt and a note showing it was a gift from you to intended cast member. They have to cover themselves I know.
He always made sure to create a special bed setting for my little one every night. We were always excited to see what was waiting for us.
On this night, he actually showed us how to make a towel animal!

In the evening, there was a dance party Deck 3 main lobby. Such a fun atmosphere. A second night of fireworks was performed as well as stage shows. We didn’t not go to this. My kids just are not into it and I quit the battle a while ago in trying to ‘force’ the fun. I like seeing things but have realized it is ok and it is not for everyone.

One other thing that was super cute. They did have a BB8 race. Similar to the Jack Jack Diaper Dash but instead they used the Remote BB8s. They operate through android phones. They provide the BB8 for racing. You simply check in about 30 minutes prior to the event, request to register. Only 3 people race at a time. They have. Races. The top winners from those races do a final race for ultimate winner. Pretty cool! Obviously spaces are limited. Get there when time to make sure to try to claim your spot.

Off to bed for more movie marathon. We really enjoyed our family time together without outside distractions such as work, computer or devices.
Every family is different and that is what is great with Disney vacations, there is something for every family Dynamic out there.
