Some Castaway Cay Fun

Our adventures on Castaway Cay!
This go around we signed up under Port Adventures for the Stingray Adventure
$52.00 10 & up
$41.00 ages 5-9
1 hour total time

All the rays have their barbs removed. It generally takes a few months for them to grow back.

We received a little orientation. Basically how to properly feed the stingrays, the history of their stingrays and what to expect.

After you feed them, you are free to snorkel around in designated area.

We geared up(mask, snorkel & vest float), read some of the fun facts on stingrays where we all meet up, had our orientation and then went to the feeding stations.

The rays are taught to come up on one side, go around and out the other end. They place mickey head symbols for them to know that will be where food is. The cast member hosting each station has a bucket of chum (squid parts, and other slimy things) that he will divvy out to each guest.

I greatly enjoyed this experience. I love feeling the rays as they came in.

Knowing how worth it was is when my son told me how he got to see a ray bury itself in the sand and then come out again while he was snorkeling. That is life and school can't always teach these firsthand experiences.

We typically do the Bike rentals but didn't on this trip. Previous trips they didn't have the child seat attachment for bikes but now I see they do offer them. That makes a huge difference and just goes to show how they make changes without necessarily shouting out an update!

Bike Rentals are only
$11.00 ages 3 & up
You can rent them for one hour intervals.

It is a nice little riding path for them and fun things to see.
My boys always loved it but then always complained about their butt hurting afterwards!

We also enjoyed Pelican Plunge on this trip, our first since last two times we were unable to. First time, it was just too cold. Second time, it was down for refurbishment. Then a few times, they may have not been with me! (adult time!!!)

My oldest loved it while my little one loved to shoot the water guns.. Pelican Plunge is a floating platform with two twisting body slides. It also has a soak bucket and water sprayers around it. You do have to swim out to it.
For smaller kids, I would recommend the 'Spring-a-Leak' water play area.  It is more of a typical tot splash area.

Can't say enough about the Island. It is truly beautiful and relaxing!

When you get off the boat they do hand out towels. You can also purchase bottles of cold water along with a souvenir Cooler. We chose not to indulge that go around. I have before mainly to get the ICE cold water lol. Yes. Sometimes I make ridiculous purchases. No method to my madness.

We chose to go back to boat, played in pool, Aqueduct and Nemo's reef. Once done, we went and had lunch at Cabana's. Really fun day that was!
