Disney Adult Getaway

A 2 night Disney Adult get-away!

Many people still will comment 'what, you are going to Disney again and without your kids?' like this is some odd decision.

Me and my husband wanted a quick get away but we also don't like sitting around too much. To me, Disney is a perfect place to go. PLUS, we never get to ride attractions together since we are always paired off with the kids!

We get to eat where we wanted, have some drinks all within a safe environment that provides easy transportation. The resorts are very comfortable and they offer many amenities.

We came in late on a Friday and left midday on Sunday. Luckily, we are close enough to drive however, many flight deals can pop up that could be just as cheap as a car drive.

Our first night, we just kicked back at the resort which was Wilderness Lodge. We headed over to grab some dinner, grabbed a few drinks from Geyser Point bar and got comfy in the bed to watch some tv. It was nice being alone and comfy in a private setting with no one shouting, 'MOM' or "DAD' constantly.

The next day was a park day.
Decided not to rush in the morning and arrived 30 minutes after park opening. By doing this, we missed the huge morning rush from bag check to park entrance. 30 minutes is enough time for the rope droppers to get all the way through. Getting in at this time is also still early enough to enjoy many attractions without huge lines. As we were walking towards the main building, I took a moment to enjoy my surroundings. I spied another couple sitting on their balcony reading the paper, another couple taking an early stroll as a jogger ran past them. I don't feel enough people really enjoy the resorts as much as they should. The relaxing part that is right at our fingertips. I did hate we were missing out on the Tye Dye event the resort was hosting later in the day. I have seen this at many resorts. You do have to pay for the T-shirt but they supply the know-how and the supplies! It is a fun Family experience and a great souvenir!! As we returned from the park for the day, we saw them putting them all away and were also able to see some of the creations. They looked great!  When you arrive, make sure to grab a flyer showcasing the resort's weekly events!

This was a very last minute trip, two weeks notice. Since I do get to enjoy the parks more so than my spouse, I picked Fast Passes of his favorite rides; Buzz, Haunted Mansion and Pirates of the Caribbean. I was so lucky to also get them all early & back to back.
This is how our morning went:
Arrived and went straight to Gaston's to eat a Cinnamon Roll.. It was not as good as previous ones I have had(tad stale). It is a great use of a snack credit though and can be shared with 2 or more people.
Our day:
Little Mermaid
Buzz Lightyear (Fast Pass) but regular line was like 5 min.
People Mover
Small World
Shopped some
Haunted Mansion (Fast Pass)
Hall of Presidents (love this)
Pirates of Caribbean (Fast Pass)
Ate at Casey's Corner (Used Mobile Order)
Shopped again and did buy us an awesome souvenir!!
All this done by 12pm
Went back to resort to drop off our goodies.
Freshened up a tad & then hopped on resort bus for Hollywood Studios.
I did snag a Fast Pass for Toy Story Midway Mania, a huge win!!
Our rides at Hollywood Studios:
Star Tours
Frozen Sing-along
Indulged in some spirits!
Looked around till our Fast Pass for Toy Story opened
When we came out after ride it was pouring. One Man's Dream (now known as Walt Disney Presents) was right next door and a perfect shelter.
I do love this place though to look back at Walt's history. Also a great place to see what is coming!
It was now about 5pm and we had to decide on Dinner.
We chose to head back to resort for the night.
We were wet and didn't feel like eating at a restaurant soaked.
We also had really checked off all that we really wanted to do. We did want to do Flight of Passage, just decided we would hit it next time.
After getting cleaned up we did a quick drive over to Walmart for some cheaper drinks, grabbed some dinner at Roaring Forks (quick service located at resort) and again rested in our room!

I felt our day was very fulfilling, un-stressful and fun.

I loved this trip since it was not built on stress. There was no worry about making sure a dining reservation was obtained, or getting to one place or another. We pretty much did what we felt like doing when there. It is easier to do this with just two people, I do admit.

Sunday was our go home day! Boo.. Too quick.
Before heading home, we did enjoy a nice breakfast at Whispering Canyon located within the resort. Snagged the reservation the night before!

After breakfast, our last adventure on our trip was to head to Disney Springs.
I think the Rainbow was a good sign as we were headed to our Happy Place!

Love this statue!

You can see how large the cinnamon roll is, you can also ask for extra icing if wanted.

Don't forget about the free water stations available at many locations!

Why the early morning park hours are so important! No crowds! This was right after we rode it.

Wish I could claim this, but I still sucked and lost

We're going on a trip in ... (finish the lines)! Love how Disney incorporates every little design from something of meaning instead of just random objects!

Small world is always a walk on attraction first thing in the morning!

Love this Building!

The cool souvenir we purchased! Mickey riding Jingles!

View from our patio of our room!

This is always cool to me!

Yes, again, I suck at the games score wise but I still LOVE playing!
