DIsney's Magic Kingdom Family Magic Tour

The Family Magic Tour available at Disney's Magic Kingdom

The family magic Tour offered at magic kingdom was pretty good! Not great but maybe just not great for my family but could be great for yours or could be a ‘no go’ for another.
Current rates are $39. Per adult not including admission into park which is required.
Pass holders can get their discount!
Offered most days with 1 Tour a day starting at 10am
Expected 2 hour tour time frame
This tour is created more for the family or younger children around 6+\-
The concept is you go on a scavenger hunt to find the belongings of our beloved characters that the pirates hid around the park.
You start at town square and also end there.
You need to check in 15 minutes prior to scheduled time.
Our guide was great. He provided fun (clean) subtle adult jokes along the way. He engaged with each child which I appreciated. My oldest(12 at time) didn’t quite enjoy it as much as expected since he was older and the other kids on Tour with us were younger.  The others kids were also not well behaved that were with us. My son was respectful and knows to watch out for the younger kids, giving them a chance. Unfortunately these kids weren’t taught any manners apparently. My youngest is too meek. The guide though gave her a chance of a time to interact so she would be included.
The other group on the Tour with us also caused us to have a 15 minute delayed start for their need to to grab Starbucks right when we were supposed to start the tour. 😠 rude.  If this is needed, please do it before the Designated tour time.
From many reviews I read , I expected to ride a couple of rides but unfortunately we only rode one. (It may have been due to being 15 minutes behind schedule from earlier coffee run.)  We met two characters as well.
The tour took us 2.5 hours due to other family.
They did provide a break during Tour for potty breaks and snack/drink by Cheshire cafe. You had to pay if you got anything.
The Tour mostly stays between Main Street, castle courtyard, liberty square and fantasyland.
We did a fun ‘follow the leader’ trail. Each kid & adult kid, if wanted, could pick out a chip with a word on it. Once it was their turn, you reveal your chip and become the leader for a little bit during our walk in the theme the chip said. Example: puppy, you lead the line as a puppy.
The kids had great fun doing this.
I would have enjoyed the tour without so many kids under a group. Speaking with a cast member , it sometimes just happens that an obnoxious group takes over a tour. The cast member can only do so much in these situations. I did appreciate ours. I felt he did best he could during it and I did appreciate him giving attention to all the kids.
One way to look at this experience, 2.5 hour tour but we rode one attraction( under the sea, little mermaid) that could easily be a 30 min Wait or more without fast pass. We met Mickey which could have been 50 min wait without a FP. Met Peter which is easily a 30 min Wait. All of that equals the time of our touring but we got to do it in a more personal & interactive way.

They do provide free bottled water at start of Tour and name tags!!
