The Cabins at Fort Wilderness, Disney World

I love the Cabins available at Fort Wilderness!
I do!
I have stayed there several times and each time has been great!

My last experience there was no different!
I did have a couple of hiccups but nothing that really affected my stay.

The cabins will hold 6 people or 6 people and a child under 3.
The set up is a bedroom in the back of cabin that holds a queen bed and bunk beds.
They have a pretty much a full kitchen. Full fridge, two burner stove top, microwave, Dishwasher and full sink. There is a grill outside. It was so nice seeing so many taking advantage of their grills, loved the smells. Many people also decorate the decks of their cabins with Lights!
The kitchen comes stocked with plates, glasses and utensils.
The Cabin only offers 1 bathroom. They do have a vanity area in the separate bedroom though. Two TVs as well are in the cabin. When I reflected back on my tip, I realized what a great time we had. I measured this not only from our adventures but also by realizing we did NOT argue about the bathroom once!! 5 big people and 1 little person, all managed to share a single bathroom on an 8 day trip! Impressive in my book!
Overall the Cabins offerings were quite handy for us since we had a more relaxed trip. We enjoyed staying in them more than a fully park filled trip that would have kept us away from resort.

Fort Wilderness is an expansive resort ground. The cabins are nestled around it, they offer privacy & a parking space. The parking space isn't meant for two cars. It can hold a car and a half. We drove two cars since we had 6 people in our party and wanted room for the car ride. No cramming on this trip!

Note: You will see deer! We saw them daily! We also got to see a bobcat! That was pretty cool! Thankfully, we missed seeing snakes & gators!

Since the campground is expanse, there is an internal bus loop that runs pretty constant inside resort. We never really waited long for any of the busses. We also used our car mostly to travel anywhere outside the campgrounds if not traveling within it or if we went to a park other than Magic Kingdom. It was just easier than taking two modes of Disney Transportation. Keep in mind staying at a cabin, must factor in a little extra travel time. One of the advantages of having a car, except for the new parking fee. Although one of our travels, we made it to same location a fellow cabin guest made it to at the same time. He used his golf cart and we took the internal bus. Maybe he had an extra stop?? We also got lucky and caught the bus as soon as we arrived to bus stop.

The campground is one of the pet friendly resorts offered by Disney. There is an extra fee to bring a pet!

The campgrounds offer so many amenities!

Tri-Circle D Ranch (horses)

Christmas is the best season to visit the Cabins/Campgrounds!
SO many of the RVs or campsites actually will set up large christmas decorations in their camp lot!
One year, we rented a golf cart so we could drive all around & visit the sites! It was SO fun! So many nice people with such spirited displays.

Some negatives:
Always good to hear pros & cons!
I would not recommend this cabin for more than 4 people. The sofa bed offered here is horrible. Even though they have remodeled these cabins, the new queen sofa bed has maybe a 2" mattress. It is not Disney quality by any means. They used to have a full size murphy bed that was super comfy. Sad it has changed.
I asked for a mattress pad (egg crate) which they used to offer but they do not have these any longer.

The lighting strip under the kitchen cabinets was hanging down when we arrived. We informed the front desk and they repaired it on a day we were at a park day. This was decided so that it would not interfere with our relaxed time at the cabin.  It really was no issue, just wanted them to know so they could repair it! easy peasy!

Since it is Magic Kingdom resort, you can not only see the fireworks nightly but also hear them!

The cabins also utilize the Soap dispensers instead of the little individual tubes. I really don't care either way except our body wash was empty.. It took them 3 days to refill it. We brought our own soap so it wasn't an issue for us.

SOOO, regarding the new 'room occupied' door hangers, they definitely will enter the room! We were in the cabin, they knocked and just entered. I was actually NOT thrilled with that. The kids were playing and I was napping due to a tummy ache! I may have over ate! haha! I was on vacation!

I do highly recommend the Cabins! Super easy access to Magic Kingdom. Great comfy space with privacy, Many amenities to enjoy besides the parks and pretty economical for Disney. Majority of the time can find a cabin with promo offering. The campsites or RV sites are never privy to the promotions however.
