My experience at Toy Story Land and how I planned my day!

We managed Toy Story Land easily!

I had the perfect trip planned out. I had a full 8 day stay and planned my Hollywood Studios day for the very last day to ensure I would secure a fast pass for the new rides.

I planned to divide my party of 6, 3 would have Slinky Dog FP and the other 3 would have Alien Swirling Saucers. We would utilize the New Rider swap so that way we could all ride with a fast pass essentially.

My plans were not to be however!
An unforeseen event forced me to shift my trip days! dashing all my calculations!
I know I had to make plans for the beginning of my stay none of the new rides had Fast Passes available.

I did make a fast pass for Toy Story mania. It was fairly eary, 8:20am
The park opened at 7am, we arrived at the park entrance at 7:05am. For a hot August day, it was already starting to really heat up! The crowd expectation was HIGH but in reality, I would give it a 6 out of 10.
Ages of my group: 2 adults, 2 18 yr olds, 1 13 yr old and 1 6 yr old. Big differences in ages and thrill levels here.
We walked into Toy Story land, 4 of us hit Slinky while 2 went to Alien swirl. Slinky ended up being a 40 minute wait. The 2 that rode Alien met Buzz after their ride and then waited for us. We then all rode Toy Story with our fast pass. We could have waited in standby and then rode quickly again with our FP. My family was good with one pass through on the rides. I was very confused with this, BUT it is family and sometimes it is easier to go with the flow, especially if you did accomplish a goal.  By this time, they opened both tracks on the Alien ride so we went through standby which was listed as a 15 minute wait but it felt like maybe a 10 minute wait.  During first hour, Alien only had one track open so the line went from 10 minute to 40 minutes within that hour. After they opened the second track, it went right back down to 15 minute posted time.
Since we walked in the park area, Toy Story only had a 10 minute wait. By the time we were done in this area, it had only increased to 20 minutes.
The time was 8:40am when we left Toy Story Land. We didn't meet Woody & Jessie. No one had the desire to and their wait was longer than Buzz's.  No one was interested in Woody's Lunch box for a breakfast treat. The items just weren't appealing to us. Although we did stop at a little food kiosk and grabbed some bananas and water.
As we headed back from the new area, we took a stroll through Walt Disney Presents. We wanted to see the new expanded models on Star Wars Land that is coming! SO amazing!
It is also fun to really see the history that little mini museum holds! This is also where you can meet Star Lord and Groot. We had met them before and we are just not crazy about the Star Lord character (sorry guy!)
We strolled over to Launch Pad so we could meet Chewie!! Big handsome Furball, 3 of us rode Tower of Terror while the other 3 went to watch Frozen Sing-along.
Here is where my oldest and his other half went on their own (sniff sniff) and I met back up with the other crew. 2 of us rode Star Tours and the other 2 met Olaf!
We were all done by 10am!
We got a lot done and we all did what we wanted.  It worked pretty perfectly.

My thoughts on the new rides.
Slinky was great: Very easy coaster, not very thrilling, just fun. I could definitely appreciate it's length.
Alien Swirling Saucers: Loved it. It was more fun to me than slinky. Just whips you around back and forth as you go through an infinity loop track.
Toy Story: classic, always fun.

I love all the details that were put into the park. Love remembering all the old toys and games played as a kid. So well done and adorable. I highly recommend taking your time to really look at these little things around it.

Since we were done with our main goals, we left the park and went to EPCOT.

We were starving at this point! Although we left at 10:30 am, we took the boat over to EPCOT, it still took about 45 minutes. We had just missed the boat when we got to the dock.

We ate at Liberty Inn within the America Showcase. It is was pretty empty since they just opened.
We secured our table and pre-ordered our food via the APP. The APP works great too for your kids that go out on their own. They can log in and order foods from your payment method instead of having to give them cash or gift cards to get food. My son and his other half came and met us at the quick service location to eat with us. I chose this location since it is available as a pre-order via APP and it has simple food options since most of my family like basic foods. They do have this delicious Apple pie cheesecake! It is SOOO yummy.

From there we headed to Mexico to ride The Grand Fiesta! We basically walked on the ride. While eating we looked at available Fast Passes and grabbed Spaceship Earth. Headed there from Mexico but stumbled upon Tim Tracker!!! Was so excited! I highly recommend his VLOGS. After Spaceship Earth, we grabbed a FP for Living with the Land! The 3 oldest kids took off to ride Test Track while we rode the Land. They took my advice. There is a section in the queue where you can stop and 'design' you own car ORRR you can keep walking past these screens to get ahead of all those that stopped. I suggest doing this. The 'design' part plays no real part in the ride but acts as more of a entertainment section while waiting in line. After all this, we decided it was time for a break. The sun was brutal and we were tired!

We went back to the resort for a few hours. After our rest we went over to Animal Kingdom.
We rode Kilimanjaro Safari! They now have Hyenas! Yuck but cool at the same time. They are now located where the African dogs were located.
The oldest two broke away and rode Expedition Everest and then came back to meet us at Flight of Passage. The line was about 1.5 hour.. Not too bad and since it was at night, easier to manage waiting in. I hung back with the little one while others rode. Navi River only had a 15 minute wait but my 6 yr old hit her little wall. I felt bad but she was a trooper! I have enjoyed both rides enough times to not worry about riding them on this trip. We played in the store with items for sale. We went and sat at Satu'li Canteen. I finally tried their cheeseburger pod.. I enjoyed their other foods so much before but never tried the pod. Not a big Fan of it! It takes like a doughy sloppy joe.

This ended our day. We pretty much got so much accomplished. No, we didn't hit half the rides available but we really hit all of our actual goals (must dos) so all in all it was a successful day! We were satisfied and worn out!

Some tips for traveling in the extreme heat. Wear airy clothes like the wick moisture ones! This way the kids can run through water areas and it still dries quick without feeling yucky~
Drink lots of water!
Use the portable mist fan, this is always nice.
take afternoon breaks either in a restaurant or back at resort.
In the summer, the parks extend their hours pretty late. This helps break your day up for resting and being able to tour the park in evening where it is not as hot.

much different crowd here at park opening than when Pandora opened

Photo op just for entrance to park area
