Disney's Contemporary Resort Review

My Review of Disney Contemporary Resort.
We stayed in the Tower with a Bay lake view. I requested higher floor and it did not disappoint.
I woke up early one morning and as much as I tried, I could not go back to bed so I ended up watching the sun Rise. I wish I had done a time lapse after I realized my attempts to sleep were futile.

The room was very spacious and comfortable. It was not too far from the elevators either (something to consider when entering a room request).
Despite how busy the interior of the resort can be with the Monorail station, the open dining of Chef Mickey & ContemptCafe, The interior of the rooms were quiet. I had no issue with outside noise.

These rooms come with a keurig coffee makers. Stocked with tea and coffee K cups.
Ceramic Mugs were as well as plastic cups.
The Mugs were kind of dirty.
Mini fridge is also available in room.
Microwave available at quick service Dining location.

The room was extremely comfortable. The experience the resort provided was well worth the money! Especially if you are wanting the Full Disney Experience! The room was more traditional art deco design which was nice but a little too formal for my taste. I would have enjoyed a little more fun to it. Room was very spacious. Full desk, two queen beds and a sleeper sofa. We really enjoyed sitting on the balcony as well when relaxing.

Two gift stores are available as well as a little market store.

We did enjoy our resort a good bit, relaxed at the pool, hot tub, Movie on the lawn, relaxed in room and ate at Contempo Cafe (quick service) that the resort was worth the deluxe cost. I would definitely upgrade to a tower room. Paying a little more for that is well worth the full experience of being there!!

I also love how all the rooms are accessed from inside the building--As a great friend pointed out, this can be a very nice feature during hurricane season!

Contemporary does sell out and is not as easy to find a promotional rate due to this unless you are looking at one of the higher level room categories.
They have a boat dock that offers Boat shuttles to Fort Wilderness and Wilderness Lodge BUT not to Magic Kingdom. I Wished they did. The monorail is great but remember, You will have to hit 3 stops before it delivers you to Magic Kingdom. The walk time from resort direct to Magic Kingdom would be less than the Monorail ride time.
Speaking of transportation with this hotel, it provides a Great advantage pertaining to proximity to other popular destinations; Monorail system, Preferred dining locations at 3 other deluxe resorts, amenities at Fort Wilderness & of course Magic Kingdom.

One more thing to consider with Deluxe and Bus transportation. Most people think with a deluxe you have priority transportation. In some aspect you do. You have quickest access to a select park. You do not have quickest access to all the parks. If you have to take a Bus, your bus is typically shared with another Deluxe. Grand Floridian shares with Polynesian. Contemporary shares with Wilderness Lodge. Yacht and Beach share a bus. Animal Kingdom does not share since it is so separate. Saratoga & Old Key West are so large, it is as convenient as a moderate when it comes to the bus system. The bus will stop at many stops around the resort before going to the Park or when coming back from the park. Keep these things in mind when selecting a resort around your main goals of park touring.

I did not get an overly friendly vibe from the resort staff here as I have had some of the other deluxe resorts. That was a shame. In fact, every time I have gone to this resort, the staff has never been friendly. They are not rude but they have a snobbish attitude.

I do have one More resort to review before I can definitely say which Deluxe is my favorite. I do like many things within each deluxe I have visited but I still have to say that Wilderness Lodge is still my favorite with Poly as a runner up. Saratoga is my least favorite.

I had planned on taking the kids to the top of resort to look outside but I did not. We were too tired (yes, even to do that). It is a beautiful site though to see the Magic Kingdom at night from the top of the resort. Just beautiful. I also highly recommend the California Grill that sits there. The food was delectable !

You can also get a great view of the Electric Water Pageant which we did watch from the dock! It was great. They stationed it right there, It was not moving. Could see if closer than our view at Polynesian which was even better.

Hope this review helps!
