Disney Yacht Club review

Disney Yacht Club

My review of the Disney Yacht Club Resort.
We had a very nice stay here. Room has plenty of space but we didn’t actually hang out in the room much.
This is considered an EPCOT, deluxe Resort.
We stayed in the standard room. I had no need for a view of anything.  I would have considered another room type if making more use of Resort itself.
Two queens and a sleeper sofa, full size.

Best features of this resort;
Close proximity to not one but two parks. Walking distance to EPCOT. Can walk to Hollywood Studios but I get enough walking in for a day that I just don’t feel need for that. They have access to boat transportation to each of the before mentioned parks too. The boats that provide the transportation here are the Motor Cruisers which allow strollers/wheelchairs etc to be rolled on.

They have bus transportation to magic kingdom and animal kingdom. The bus does also stop at Beach club and Swan & Dolphin resorts.
You get one of the BEST pools staying here. Seriously, the pool here to me is the best. Pretty large. It’s shared with beach club but I’ve never seen it crowded.
You have direct access to the boardwalk which has a great night life.
Only negative is the slide entrance is across the walk and if you are a paranoid parent like me, it will be a lot of walking back/forth for this.

Room came with keurig coffeemaker. Has plenty of drawers, closet space, mini fridge and ironing board.
Beds were raised which allowed luggage space underneath. Many many USB ports for devices as well as outlets.

Staff was fine. Resort fine. Atmosphere was rather stale. Boardwalk Inn was more enjoyable to me as far as comfort. I would still stay at Yacht over Boardwalk for the pool.

I find it best to book a deluxe as far in advance as possible to lock in a room rate. If it can be rolled into a promotional rate released than bonus otherwise this is second best rate you will get. The rates change and increase through year.

The new hardwood floors have mixed reviews. Many complaint about the dirt sticking to feet when getting in bed. I think it may be nice if there were rugs for this of maybe could use extra towels.

Since the beds do sit higher, may consider requesting bed rails for the smaller kids that could roll off bed.
I do love how you can store items under the bed though to free up floor space. Closets are pretty nice size to also hold luggage.

Staying at a resort that sits on the Boardwalk just gives the absolute best views. The mornings are so pretty especially when fog is there. Just very peaceful. The boardwalk activities provides lots of entertainment opportunities.

Great selection of restaurants as well that are just easy to get to between resorts, The Boardwalk and the the two close parks.
