The Food Courts of Disney

I like food.. I will just say it!

I also have to say, I love the the food courts at Disney. There are usually so many options that anyone should find what they are looking for. It is also a factor when choosing a resort.

The chefs at them try to help out the best they can if you need to alter what is offered.

All Value resorts and Moderate resorts offer a Food Court. Not all Deluxe resorts have this. They do have some limited quick service options however.

The Deluxe resorts that do have a decent quick service (like a mini food court) are
Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge(Loved this but sitting area is a little more limited)
Capt' Cooks at Poly (here, love to sit at patio over pool)
The Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge (good but more themed food options)
Contempo Cafe at The Contemporary(here, love the disney atmosphere with the Monorail running overhead)
The Artist's Palette at Saratoga Springs (large dining area-just not my favorite resort)

I may have enjoyed each one!!! I did say I like food!! Food!

All other Deluxe have very limited counter service meal options.

SO what do I love at the Food Courts?! They are easy, have lots of options & convenient. Reasonable (for Disney) and pretty much have always been satisfying.

We love the Omelette stations and 'Make your own Pasta' stations the best!!!

Most have a flat bread pizza option, hamburger option, sum yummy sandwich options, egg or pancake platters and of course the delightful Mickey Waffles.

You can also always run in and grab anything from a quick pastry to a cold bottle of wine. The Food Court just has LOTS of options.

Don't forget the kid platters comes with a child drink included in the price!
If using a Dining plan, don't forget the child credit can be used toward an adult meal which also still comes with a drink under plan! Great for sharing a dining credit--it can extend your credit bank!

SO.. our recent trip (since we did hang a little more at the resort) we did enjoy the foodcourt a few times. It was nice knowing we could also always run out there to grab some sort of goody if chilling by the pool or in the room for down time.

You can also make some changes if you want to with your platter. Never be afraid to ask!
For the Breakfast Platter, it came with either bacon and potatoes. We didn't want the potatoes so instead she gave us two sausages! On another, she gave us an extra pancake instead of the listed side item it was to come with! So everyone is happy and no wasted food.  Win, Win

My kids are very picky eaters (except one). The make your own pasta stations are a favorite. He likes it simple, buttered noodles and shrimp! I think the cooks like it too, makes it easier for them! He will eat the entire serving. I feel I get my $$'s worth; he really enjoys it and eats it all.

For a child platter we took the sides that came in a bag, this way we could take them with us as snacks for later! You can also always ask for a 'to go' box to take your extras in for later snacks!

If you buy a fountain drink, you can get up to 4 refills! In case you want to do this and share the drink! This is when you go on a budget and everyone is willing to compromise.
Of course, if you have the dining plan, you get your refillable mug to use!
We also bought a bottle soda, asked for free cups and shared the bottle. This was cheaper than buying separate cokes for all. (Another budget move)
You do have to ask for the free cups if planning on just getting water or to use to poor your drink into. They are not openly available.
The Drink station now has the Free Style machines for your drinks. I am NOT a fan of these. The syrups mix, it is an obvious taste difference. Blah! They do have separate ICE/Water dispensers at the drink stations which is nice and makes it easier for all to fill.

By the way, They usually have an amazing selection of Desserts! It's the little things!

These are NOT small cupcakes.. All of these are BIG portions. Don't let the picture fool you!
You can't tell but there is edible glitter on this! Made it so pretty!

You can see how easy it is for your bill to add up! We could have skimped some by not having the desserts but what is a vacatin without a little splurge! This is also good reason for the Dining Plan!

Everybody was Kung Fy Fighting!!! Oh yes, I was singing it when there.
