Dealing with Disney

For the second time I had a great time at WDW.  I've been planning for a year and of course it shows you how much a good plan can help you. But you also realize how much changes along the way. Checkin was a breeze. I had to ask for opting out of mousekeeping myself. For 9 nights I got $80. It was no problem. I asked for your/my TA's welcome package and just like last year they really made an effort to look for it but could not find any. It ended up showing up in my room when I arrived at the room later that same day. I was a little surprised I got a room at ground level since I requested highest floor. But I realised I'm here at Disney so nothing's going to get me down. Last year I stayed at Movies and I have to say I prefer the layout of that resort. I was in the Broadway section and it felt like a longer walk to the main building and busses. The thing I took from last year was to take more breaks and time to relax. I like food.. I will just say it! I also have to say, I love the the food courts at Disney. There are usually so many options that anyone should find what they are looking for. It is also a factor when choosing a resort. The chefs at them try to help out the best they can if you need to alter what is offered. All Value resorts and Moderate resorts offer a Food Court. Not all Deluxe resorts have this. They do have some limited quick service options however. The Deluxe resorts that do have a decent quick service (like a mini food court) are Roaring Forks at Wilderness Lodge (Loved this but sitting area is a little more limited) Capt' Cooks at Poly (here, love to sit at patio over pool) The Mara at Animal Kingdom Lodge (good but more themed food options) Contempo Cafe at The Contemporary (here, love the disney atmosphere with the Monorail running overhead) The Artist's Palette at Saratoga Springs (large dining area-just not my favorite resort) I may have enjoyed ea...

I love Riverside at Walt Disney World's Resorts! It is a moderate resort and has pretty large grounds but really not as large as some of the other moderate resorts. It can be pretty easy to navigate around it though! This resort has not been going through the refurbishments as of yet as many of the other resorts have been but it will be for sure.--EDITED, refurbishment is now complete! I am curious if the specialty themed rooms will be refurbished?? The Pirate themed rooms available at The Caribbean Beach Resort so far have not been touched. As is the name, they are highly decorated with all sorts of Princess touches; floor, beds, sinks & decor! You can also find firework lights made into the headboards! I know so much has been out there about Disney trying to be more eco friendly and will be removing straws, lids and bags.. Well, my last trip they had NO drink cup lids.. Not even upon request. NONE.. Of course we had two spilling incidents during this trip which may have caused a cuss word to fly out.. 🙄 Received a full cup (full to the rim) promptly placed in stroller cup holder. My daughter got in stroller (not jumping) but she got in knees first, quickly turned to sitting position, the Drink was sloshed up and out.. All over her back and in the stroller. I was NOT happy. The straws however were plentiful.. Not sure what to make of it all. A friend of mine did report he saw plenty of them??? what is up with that. He went the following week as me. From what I am reading, many guests either have access to them or can't find a single one. I would warn many during this trying time to be prepared to not have access to lids or straws.
