Boutiques and Pirate Leagues

Boutiques and Pirate Leagues!

Want a little extra magic added for your kiddos during your magical vacations, get a makeover!

I have thoroughly enjoyed each makeover experience we have had with Disney! The Characters also seem to interact more with a child made over! Just something I have noticed over the years!

What are the makeovers?
Magic Kingdom & Disney Springs of Walt Disney World offers Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique where your little one can get a princess Makeover package. They do have a Knight makeover as well for the young lads!
Here they can get their nails made over, limited hair style options, a little makeup, a dress and more depending on the type of package you want to build up to.

A Pirate League offers a pirate makeover! For the little girls, they can become a princess pirate or a mermaid option! They currently have an Uma package but is limited time. No dates provided.

Onboard the Disney Cruise line, They also offer a boutique on board the Disney Dream or Fantasy.
This boutique offers pirate makeover on Pirate night or the regular boutique options plus some (like the first mate & more) on other nights.

Packages can start around $49.95 and can go up to $199.95 depending on what is wanted.
The Uma package however is only $19.99

Unfortunately the only way to currently book these is by calling in or have your travel agent call it in for you! They open for reservations 180 days prior to arrival dates. Yes, they can book up quickly!
When to schedule, this can depend on your plans for the day. If you have a princess M&G fast pass or a Princess or Character Dining experience reserved, try to schedule the makeover experience about 90 minutes prior to your set times. This way they are freshly made~over and ready for their photos!
You pay at time of appointment. Keep the reservation information stored in your My Disney Experience under the 'note' section so it will show in your plans! I am still hopeful they will allow bookings under the site at some point.

The experience can take anywhere from 60-90 minutes.
Must be free of any scalp conditions, nails polish free & hair brushed upon arrival.
They will use a clean comb and fresh new makeup that is given to you when complete (nothing is re-used).

Now, two things to also keep in mind!
There are a few salons around Disney that can also do Princess makeovers that have full hair stylist options! These specialty hair styles are not available in the regular boutiques and can really add a whole NEW princess look! On the flip side, it is not the glorified boutique, so if you are wanting that atmosphere go to a boutique with the Fair Godmother's in training. I feel the settings in the boutiques though are rushed, noisy and busy. The Salons are a little more refined. You can find these at Grand Floridian (Ivy Trellis), Wilderness Lodge has a new one, Coronado Springs also has one.
The boutiques onboard the cruise lines have always been calmer to me. I have never seen them busy. I am not sure if I just managed to hit the right times or what???

Here are a few of my reviews from previous experiences.

Pirate League at Magic Kingdom-EDITED--CURRENTLY NOT AVAILABLE. HOPEFULLY WILL BE BROUGHT BACK??
Had the Uma makeover done that is currently available at The Pirates League located at Magic Kingdom. This is a temporary makeover option.
Price is $19.95
I don’t recommend it.
Yes, she was happy while having it done but she would be just as happy & proud getting a face paint job done for less ðŸ’´.
Or I would have even rather paid more for the mermaid or pirate makeover.
What is included.
Very light makeup that you can’t even see.
The only thing that does show up is the bright blue heavy eyeliner and bright lip gloss.
You also receive a tad bit of glitter on face.
The pirate league sash
The pirate coin necklace
You also get to roll the chest to receive a pirate name , a scroll of the name as well for a souvenir.
You get to go into the secret room for picture ops too. Although there was no official photographer like they used to have but still pretty fun experience.
The con-the makeup looked like a girl on the street corner🤦‍♀️. Not the best look when taking pictures the rest of the day at the park with characters or castle backgrounds ðŸ˜³
A costume is offered/pictured but they never received it (what I was told) so one can’t actually get it.
Not sure how long this will be offered. They tried to talk me out of it. I already hyped it up to my little tho.
They could have made this so much more of a great experience but failed.
Seems like they could have added hair pieces in same color as Uma. Had the costume available or did much more with the makeup.
Really a huge let down.
I love the other package options, those are great. Just don’t do the Uma!! We have done several other packages before and was never let down with those. I say this, but I am glad we did it. My little one was loving her new look. I just didn't. I would never want to have taken that happiness away! haha

This Boutique location is so much nicer than the one located at Magic Kingdom. It is larger, the theming is more magical and the photo opportunity here can't be matched!
I understand some want the magic they feel they get from being at Magic Kingdom. My only thought is it takes away so much park time that really is already limited anyway from all what is offered.
I encountered an over zealous cast member once. Although they were extremely nice in making it a special moment they ended up taking 1 hour & 45 minutes on the experience. It was a bit overkill. For park days, I recommend a quick primping at resort then go get a quick sprinkle at the park boutique.

Did you know?!
A great spot for a Photo pass for your Princess or Prince is hidden inside Castle Couture!
Located right next to Cinderella's Castle on the back left side.
After you have Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique makeover, you can go there and have your photo made. If you purchased the Memory maker, you can download the pictures for free. If you have not purchased it, you can pay to download your favorite picture!
Cost savings, you can dress your little one up yourself with their perfect outfit, fix up their hair, glitter, makeup at resort prior to arriving at park and still have their photos made there.
They have a lovely backdrop and a Chaise Lounge for them to pose on.
