review of The Plaza restaurant located at Magic Kingdom

The very easily overlooked The Plaza Restaurant available at Magic Kingdom right off the back end of Main Street USA is something one should consider!

This is a small table service dining location. No frills or thrills to it but restful and enjoyable options. They have mostly typical 'American' cuisine. You can be served a nice larger portion meal entree that is only a little above a quick service meal. There is something to be said about taking advantage of resting during a park touring day!

We ate here during a non-planned Magic Kingdom day. We did have two fast passes selected but just played out our day as we went along! Very relaxing to us and we were able to pretty much do what we wanted. We did miss Haunted Mansion and 7 dwarf Mine train but we were okay with that. It was also only a half day spent there.

That morning we wanted to get to the park very early for rope drop and see the morning show.
This meant we went without breakfast in favor of getting up a little later but still early enough to arrive to park when we wanted to.

We decided we wanted a sit down table service. The Plaza was available (usually  is~ although, it is a small dining hall) so we booked a breakfast at 9:50am

I have been watching my portions which still worked out great at this location.
We didn't do the dining plan for this trip since it was a little too un-planned we didn't feel the dining plan would work for us this time. I would not recommend using a credit off a Dining plan for this dining location unless you just need to use a credit.

I almost ordered just a side of grits($5.00) but the breakfast platter looked so amazing! The problem with Disney is all the choices one is forced to make. Luckily, my touring partner~ sister-in-law was happy to split the platter with me!

We ordered the All-American Classic Platter.
This comes with two Mickey waffles, Scrambled eggs, Sausage, Bacon, breakfast potatoes and a biscuit. We were not wanting the potatoes however. We asked if we could trade them out for a bowl of grits instead and they were happy to honor our request! Yeah! The meal is $16.00 so we had a more than plentiful platter to share for only $8.00 each! That is a win in my book!
Sometimes I do like their breakfast potatoes but it seems to be a 50/50 on which dining location I like them at. Garden Grill, love theirs. I am glad I didn't try The Plaza's.. Although they are supposedly cooked the same, I don't think they are. My brother did get the platter as is and he didn't enjoy the potatoes.

I did almost get the Steak and Eggs Entree.. Was so tempting. BUT we did have plans to have steak for dinner. $18.00 not a bad price for a steak at Disney. Not the finest grade but they usually do a great job on seasoning them right!

Now, I am NOT a fan of Disney's sausage links.. I don't care for them at any dining location there honestly. Just so you are aware, if you feel you want to maybe swap a food item out, never hesitate to ask about options!
