The Ponies & Horses of Walt Disney World!

I SO love animals and I love the fact I can actually visit them while on vacation is even better!

They are located at Fort Wilderness at Tri-Circle D Ranch. There are two locations which is important to know. Ponies & working horses are over at The Settlement and The horses for trail rides are by the main entrance.

Such a hidden gem for the horse lover!
It's totally FREE! (Parts of it anyway)

Every time I have visited I have also learned something new from the amazing care takers!
Once ( I so wish I had her name) went into great detail with my son over the care of the ponies as well as interesting facts & tips in their care. Ex: what to do if one steps on your foot. (OUCH!)
Watch a pony ride quick peek at what to expect

Giddy up for a Pony ride! Quick Link
For your little ones, you can take them by lead around the walking path. $8.00 per walk or Buy 1 get 1 half off! We did two laps for $12.00. Really not a bad deal. The ponies are amazingly sweet.
They must be under 48" & less than 80lb as well as over 2 years of age.
They only accept cash, so make sure you have proper payment method.
My little one is about to hit the limit in taking advantage of this. Booo
Hoping for one more ride around on our next trip!

Horse Barn:   Horse Barn link
This is where you can see the Percheron or Clydesdale (working horse). These are magnificent beauties.
I found out from last trip they started offering daily 30 minute tours of this barn to go over the barn, care and an encounter! HOW AMAZING IS THAT! We were on such a strict time line we were not able to take advantage of this. Daily at 12:30pm! FREE
We will be there next time!
You can usually always walk through part of the barn, see their names and the horse if in stalls. We have always seen some! There is also some great history if you look for it that is displayed as well in the barn!

You can always walk through both areas free to take a peek at Cinderella's Ponies and the Trolly horses! I highly suggest it.

Horse back Riding: Trail ride info
Want a little more horse action then Take a ride!
$55.00 per person for guests 9 & up. Very tame peaceful & slow trail ride. If you are looking for more excitement or are used to doing more adventurous trail ride, this may be to tame for you. It is perfect for the child or one that just enjoys the pony time!
The trail ride is for 45 minutes. Must be over 48" and under 250lbs.
No worry if you are worried about getting on the horse, they have a platform to easily mount!
The rides are available at set times of day. In the summer, I would recommend earlier so not as hot.
8:30am, 10am, 11:30am, 1pm, 2:30pm

There are also many opportunities for carriage rides  if you are interested in those options but for the more up close encounters, I would recommend the above options.

 The Ponies!

SO ADORABLE
