Walt Disney World Resorts recent experience by Dealing with Disney

What I learned from my recent visit to

Walt Disney World under Re-opening Phase.

It was a great experience all in all.

There are definitely changes and that is just the way it is. I have learned that in all things, life changes. Walt said it himself.

The experience is still about the Magical experiences made for children, families and adult children!

The Mask. They suck..
This seems to be a semi permanent feature for the extended time being.

Basic rule of thumb for the mask.

The mask needs to be 2 layers, no holes or vents within it.

Must have ear loops. No Gaiters, mesh, Tulle or any other similar style material.

Mask must be worn at all times except; while eating at a standing/sitting location, at pools, in personal resort room or at a relaxation station.

Cast Members will reprimand you-they have to, it is not personal since it is their job.

I highly recommend taking multiple masks. Masks are not really healthy in my opinion. You can tell the masks get moist and stinky throughout the day. I would say, best to have two available per day.

I did feel exhausted after one full park day due to my mask. Take the breaks so you can get the oxygen in!

I hand washed my mask and also bought more while there. Hand wash was very easy! I had the detergent. I washed it night prior, let it hang dry and then used the hair dryer to complete any spots still damp. It worked great. If you are like me, a mask is NOT something I want to spend money on. I rather have something else!!!

I am NOT a fan of the photopass mask pictures. They just are not cute to me. Luckily everyone is different and those that can enjoy -can still enjoy it!

If you take your mask off in a ride, you will NOT have access to your photopass! Make sure to keep that in mind.

I saw MANY higher rank Disney staff all throughout the park. They are right there with their park staff to assist with any possible question that may arise.

Still allow yourself a full hour while using Disney Transportation to get from one destination to another.

Yes!! There is a lower capacity which means reduced crowds. Yes, it is allowing for smaller wait times for attractions. With that being said, some attractions can still have a 40-60 min wait!

Remember, the attractions and the transportation modes are also being operated under new guidelines. They will transport/hold at lower capacity as well!

Think of it like this.

Before:

Average queue may have 150 guests and the ride vehicle can hold 20 guests per cycle. Your wait time previously was 45 minutes.

Now:

Average queue may have 75 guests and the ride vehicle is only allowing 10 guests per cycle. Therefore, your wait could very much be the exact same.

This mainly applies to the most popular or newest attractions.

I have been at Disney during a hurricane and I saw less crowds at this time than I have under now re-opened parks.

We had a great time and it is very noticeably less crowded now. It is still best to have a proper expectation for your experience to come.

Things are still changing pretty often.

Review policies prior to leaving then while there ask, ask again and even ask a third time if unsure!

One (of many) things I loved about the experience, I was able to really enjoy the parks without draining all my energy.

Previously we had to do super early morning all the way to super late night park touring in order to get the majority of what we wanted done.

With this visit, we strolled around the parks. We picked and chose each entertainment option in the moment. Zero stress!

We were able to go back to resort at reasonable time allowing us to still enjoy resort options.

The pool/hot tub is a huge benefit to relax and ready oneself for the next day!

You really need this time as well to recoup the lower O2 intake from the mask.

Movies under the Stars are still going on at the resorts! The families we saw were loving it. They played Nightmare Before Christmas one evening and a group of teens Disney bounded in characters from the movie! How fun is that!

I found this was also a great time to get other activities done.

Take pictures

Try new foods

Try resort amenities not tried before

Enjoy pools

Play Mini Golf or golf!

Expect different crowd levels at Different parks.

EPCOT will be your least crowded and the arrival times can greatly affect your touring.

Animal Kingdom is also one of the lower crowded parks. I also noticed many people left early from this park as well. You could take your time and enter the park later in day, still experiencing all you want and less crowd.

Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios have the highest crowd intake for now. Magic Kingdom had a constant crowd, as always, the first two hours of the park day are your least crowded with this park. I saw guests constantly trickling through into the park here. It was still very manageable!

Hollywood Studios, your guests are primarily at Toy Story land, Galaxy’s Edge and Runaway Railway. You won’t really find a ‘crowd’ anywhere else.  This park is still very manageable!

Again, I can’t emphasize this enough. Look for things to constantly change, such as park crowds. More people may come as they are seeing how others are experiencing it. The hours could change, more characters could be introduced.

Characters right now are random and tucked in places that they are visible but not obtainable. I saw many people taking pictures with a character In the background. Gaston and the stepsisters were engaging with guests at a distance.   There are lots of fun moments to be had!!!

Not all snack kiosks are open but enough are. All the Starbuck locations are open and it seemed like every Joffrey coffee shops were also open.

Food & Wine Festival is going on and it is a Great time to enjoy this festival since crowds are not there! How fantastic is that to walk right to a food booth without wait! Sweet!

Explore the stores you have not explored before such as the ones around the world pavilion or the Art of Disney Stores! You can find really nifty finds / fun souvenirs.

I love finding a unique souvenir I can make use of!

Pay attention to the small details within the park! Even though the interactive queue activities are off limits, you can still see the thought placed in each one and admire the history of it. An example of this is in the Big Thunder Mountain RR queue. Have you ever noticed all the bird cages hanging from the ceiling? Have you ever heard the phrase, canary in a coal mine?

It can be pretty interesting!

No visit to the parks is ever the same!

Have a good attitude and roll with the punches!
