The Void experience review by Dealing with Disney

The VOID ?

What is it? Where is it? How does it work?
I had to find out first hand to see exactly what this was all about and I was NOT disappointed.
It became the highlight of my most recent trip!

WOW, seriously is all I can say!

The Void, a new virtual reality experience located at Disney Springs (as well as some other major cities including ATL) in what used to be Once upon a Toy (a small part of the store is still there but mostly taken over by the Void-sad I know--in fact, they no longer have the Mr. Potato head station!😨)
Must be 10 & up to participate and over 48” height.

I paid $29.95 for my last experience. This price can change. It will get you a 30 minute experience. Not too bad. You book it via a website, here is the link for tickets  (The Void)

I highly recommend reserving in advance as well. They have a wide range of times available and do book up.
Currently the experience is based around Star Wars. Slots typically become available 1-3 months out. Experience options can change.

So, how does it work?

You check in for your time, it is a self check in service with many kiosks. You will need your confirmation ticket/email for this.
You then wait in a line (hopefully they will get better with this. They were 45 minutes behind😒)
You enter a staging room, given some brief instructions. You basically scan into the system. You can pick a color to go with your virtual game costume.

You move to the suiting up area, given a helmet and chest cover that you clip together almost like a life vest.
They fit great, no issues. Helmet was not too heavy and no discomfort. The employees will assist you.

You are then led to a starting room. You place your helmets down and now you are in the game. Everything you see is there but not there. Since our game was Star Wars and we were the rebels, we were in Storm Troopers in disguise. I could look at my son and every movement he made was played out in his storm trooper digital self. It was AMAZING!

We had to go through mazes, fight storm troopers, Darth Vader and some big alien slug! It was EPIC, just EPIC!
You could see a droid, reach out and touch the droid. If you got shot, you would feel a buzz. Didn't hurt at all, it was just enough to let you know you were hit. We may have had fun shooting each other!

I HIGHLY recommend this amazing experience to share between you and your family or you and your friends!

Only 4 people play together through a mission. Two groups of 4 can go at a time but they are their own groups and do not cross with your group.

I was also able to enjoy the Atlanta Location -played the Avenger Mission. I enjoyed that set up much better than the Star Wars one! In Atlanta, there was no extra wait time. They were on time for their scheduled appointments. They were not as busy though either.

My family LOVED it.
