Magic Kingdom After Hour Event Party experience by Dealing with Disney

Magic Kingdom After Hour Event:
So.. My experience with the Special Ticket after hours event at Magic Kingdom.
I went to the Villains themed event hosted over the summer but majority of year the regular after hour event is offered (except during holiday seasons when the Parties are going on)

Let me tell you! This event is GOLDEN!!! Is it pricey? Well, yes

What is not pricey at Disney?

Is it worth it? YES

Magic Kingdom After Hour tickets are available usually offered one night a week. Currently there are a few nights available on Monday nights during during holiday party season but back to weekly availability starting in January.

Cost for our ticket: $129.00 (w/o tax)

Normal daily ticket: starts at $109.00

when I compared the ticket event for 12/9-party was $129.00 and the regular ticket was $117.00 , not a huge price difference but you get so much more in my opinion.

My perspective, it is paying a little more than a full day ticket price. You only can enter at 7pm and stay 3 extra hours after park closing. So, you get park time before park closes PLUS you get 3 hours of VERY limited guests/crowd levels.

When you enter for the party, there is a designated entry (lots of signs). They provide you with special wristbands to have to separate you from the regular guests. You still must go through security/bag check and Park entry process. I still recommended giving yourself 60 minutes travel time to arrive and go through entry process. Disney Transportation is available during these events and a full hour after the event.
Even when entering park at 7pm during normal hours, it was not bad crowd wise. We decided to just enter and have our dinner at Casey’s Corner! (yum) our favorite at Magic Kingdom. We walked around, did a couple of rides while park was still open on rides with lower queues.

We walked in the shops and lands to just enjoy the ambiance of being there.
Once the party started, We literally walked on every ride! We even took our time during our stay. We have 3 children in vast age ranges; 7, 14, 19 with different ride/thrill level interests. We could have done way more but we took turns on doing attractions each one wanted (so lots of back and forth across park-which was fine for us).  We did EVERYTHING we wanted to do with ease just during those 3 extra hours than we could have with a full day regular park ticket. (this may be ideal for guests with special needs that can’t handle crowds or wait times). How often can you walk on Peter Pan or 7 Dwarf?

Since we went during the Villains After hour event, they did offer a few extra features than the normal after hour event; Maleficent dragon parade float came out twice during the night, Space Mountain went totally dark, a special DJ hosted event/show at the castle for dancing and another dance party over by Space Mountain.  SO much fun to be had!

Another bonus!! Free Mickey Bars, Ice cream sandwiches and Frozen Fruit Bars, Free Popcorn and bottled coke products such as coke, sprite, Dasani and water.. This was fabulous!!!

Towards end of the night, the cast members were trying to pan off all their goods. Some guests were taking merchandise bags and filling them with bottled drinks. I can’t lie, we did it too! We saw two cast-members trying to give a box full of ice cream away. We could not take this, not sure how many people would be able to actually take this and keep it frozen from park to resort or home.. But kudos to the gesture.

You can also avoid the summer heat by taking advantage of these after hour event parties. The temperature was perfect for us during the event. We wore T-shirts and shorts and it just felt wonderful. I actually got a tad chilly late at night and this was Mid July in FL! That says quite a bit! The next morning we slept in and enjoyed our resort.
Only cons: no characters, crazy right!!! A total missed opportunity to have amazing character experiences. Maybe they will offer those soon with a more expensive ticket! haha

One more thing I LOVED, I could take my time to take some great pictures without waiting or pushing around people!!!

You are up late!! We left the park about 1:30 am.. With a 7-year-old. Now, I did have her stay up late for a couple of months prior to this event to build her endurance in staying up late. That helped a good bit!

This is largest crowd to see all the entire night was at entering for the party event.
