Our stateroom experiences onboard the Disney Cruise Fantasy & Dream

Disney stateroom options onboard the Disney Dream & Fantasy:

I have been fortunate enough to sleep in a few different categories from all my sailings. Stayed in the Deluxe Family Ocean view majority of my cruises.

I did want to share with you some of the ones I did sleep stay in.

My latest experience was with Category 8A Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom-accessible
These are very limited in availability -I had to secure mine as soon as the new cruise dates were released --so basically 18 months from sail date. It was well worth it.
These cabins only sleep 4.
They have a very nice room layout-even though they offer same square footage there is more open space.
One open Queen bed. One Single Sleeper Sofa and 1 Upper Berth pull Down bed.
241 Sq Ft
2 Large Porthole windows with seating!

This provides a nice spacious floor layout! we were Not constantly bumping into tight areas. Don't get me wrong, Disney's staterooms are some of the most spacious & comfy cruise cabins out there BUT they are still cabins of confined space.
You can see from the pictures we were comfy in our room layout.
Some cons: No privacy curtain between main bed and pull out beds. That can be nice to have.
No duel/split bathroom (This is something Disney prides itself in having)
So, there is only one bathroom containing the shower/potty and sink.
All other cabin categories have the split bathroom which means; one room containing potty/sink with vanity area and other containing the shower and sink/vanity area. This feature is definitely nice to have and was MISSED not having.
The shower head is also lacking in the single bathrooms. It is there but doesn't have the same overhead rain shower head. This category doesn't have the big tub sides either like the split tub offers. That was nice for the little kids during bath-time.
I would have to say that I would still pick this room category over the split bathroom. Each kid could claim a window as well which was pretty nice for us. We just really enjoyed it.

Here is our Cabin which was Category 8C
Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom
can sleep from 3-5 guests depending on cabin secured.
1 large porthole window seating
241 square foot.
Depending on which cabin is selected you could have the below options
Queen bed, Single Sleeper Sofa, Upper Birth Pull down bed, Wall Pull Down bed.
Regardless each come with the queen and the sleeper sofa.

Split Bath:
Bathroom with vanity and Round tub with vanity area

These are standard cruise cabin room configurations. They also offer the privacy curtain and all cabins have blackout window drapery. I do love this feature!

IN each cabin, a stateroom cabin Key Card is needed to activate electricity in the rooms. Place your Key card in the slot and you now have all the power!! It is primarily done this way to conserve energy when not in room. I use any membership or plastic card I have on hand. I don't like remembering to take my Key card out of my lanyard to place in the slot. We do make efforts to turn off the power when not in room! We don't want to be THOSE people!

Now another category:
Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah
We chose 5E Private Verandah with some White Wall
@46 sq foot (this includes the verandah)
Can sleep 3 to 4
Room configuration:
Queen bed, Single Sleeper Sofa and Upper Berth pull down bed (if sleeping 4)
Private Verandah.
Split Bathroom

We really loved this room especially have the private Verandah. We only really utilized it once during our cruise however. Our particular cruise for short for this stay. I would not do again for short cruise but would definitely consider for longer cruise.
