Disney's POP Century Resort review from Dealing with Disney

Value resorts:
POP Century is my go to typically! I am not opposed to the others though!
If you are headed to Disney on a budget, the Value resorts are really not too bad of a deal. Make sure you know what you are expecting is the key!
Each resort has their own food court, Bus transportation stop, mini arcade, pool, laundry room and Disney Gift store.
These resorts offer some of the same fun as other resorts. You can find cast members giving kids little toys by the pool. They have nightly trivia and movie nights by the pool.
I have seen cast members do dance lines in the lobbies with guests.
If you are looking for a bed to crash into and theming specifically for your child's fancy, these resorts are great.
If you rather put more money into experiences versus rooming, these are great options.

I have stayed at the Values many times and was perfectly fine with them.

Each Value resort offer pools; 1 large and two smaller ones. They do not have slides or splash areas.

The rooms are simple enough, basic 2 full size beds or 1 king bed. Simple tub/shower and vanity.

POP was built after the initial All Star Resorts, so it is newer than them.
The other advantage to POP is a dedicated bus transportation. No extra stops between park runs.

POP is themed just as adorable as the values with the oversized creations of toys or favorite characters popular from past centuries.

These resorts can be a great experience but one definitely needs a proper expectation of them so not to be surprised at arrival with a misconception.

Here are the PROS and CONS

These are definitely value.
The walls can be thinner. There is much more traffic in these resorts. Many families with younger children and youth tour groups tend to fill value resorts.
This can make the resort grounds a noisier at times I have witnessed than other resorts.
The resort grounds themselves are not too large in my opinion. It was easy enough (for me) to walk from back in of resort to main lobby/transportation/food court area. Some other resort grounds in Moderate and Deluxe can actually be much larger.

The rooms have just been refurbished. The new mattresses are SO comfy! Love them. They also have wonderful pillows. Only thin blankets are offered however, You may want to bring your own or ask room service for more.

They do come with a mini fridge that is SO Much larger and nicer than the previous ones.
They also now offer coffee/Tea makers in the room.
Microwaves are available in the food court.

The shower Heads ARE amazing now! Highly recommend that!!! Still tad cramped but totally fine for a short or budget minded trip!

Part of the great advantage on the remodel is in the Full Size Room layout. There are two beds; one full size (close to queen size) and a murphy bed. While staged it can be used as a table. Two chairs are provided. Pulled down, it is just as large as the standard bed offered and JUST as comfortable. Me and my little one slept perfectly on it, even with her feet kicking me in the gut! Sometimes the Suites at other resorts are nice for this reason! haha

No fine dining or table service dining is available, only counter service food courts.
You are ON property. You get Extra Magic Hours, free Disney transportation, free resort/park parking, Magic Bands, Advance Fast Pass selections, option to purchase the Disney Dining Plan and the magical feel of being on property. There is a difference.
Much more budget friendly!! If you want a quick get away on a dime, you can't beat it. If you care about the room only as a place to crash, it's perfect. If you want your kids to get so excited, to let them feel like they are in the movies they adore, this is the place.
The oversized theming of giant characters from your favorite classics are just beautiful. I still get amazed seeing them. Your kids will love the rooms, decor and atmosphere of fun that fills the air. The main lobby offers nice size food courts that to me offer some of the best meal choices; from pasta bars to omelette bars. Yum!
The pools are perfect. Zero depth entries which is best for the little ones. Kids love pools. They do have cute pool designs. Art of Animation's pool plays music under the water. Once you go under, you can hear the magical tunes!
POP and Art of Animation are the newest of the values. They sit right next to each other sharing a bridge to go between resorts.
Each resort offers fun stores, family/kid activities and nightly movies just like all other resorts.
Staying at a value lets you place your funds for things that may be more important to you; character dining, makeover, souvenir or tours.
I have stayed at a value many times. I've been perfectly happy with them. I do prefer the moderate or deluxe at this point (my kids are bigger).
